Electric Panel Upgrade and Replacement
As you increase the number of electrical devices in your home, there is a natural increase in the electric load that goes through your power outlets, wiring system and circuit breakers. If you have added solar panels, installed new appliances, a spa, or a treadmill, there is a good chance you’ll need a panel upgrade your existing panel or or install a sub-panel to handle your new energy requirements.
Be aware that even nice looking panels may need an upgrade depending on your current, or projected, energy needs, which could prevent risks or damage to your electric devices. The cost of replacing your old 100A-panel, upgrading to 200A, or installing a subpanel in your home is just a small fraction of the cost of eventually losing some of your electronics or worse. Besides, you might get better rates from your insurance, and most of all, be sure that your family and business are much safer.
Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI)
As Construction Codes evolve and get updated, they offer safer regulations based on accumulated experience and and the entrance of better electrical devices. The regulation on the use of GFCI outlets and breakers are an important step towards a safer environment at home.
Unfortunately, despite the cost devices, many families and businesses haven’t yet made the upgrades recommended by the constructions codes. If you are one on them, please talk to us to know for if or where you would need to make changes.
